Quirky Woodwork has more than one string to its bow, or should that be tool in its tool-shed? While we are mainly known for the design and crafting of handmade furniture, we also offer a design and build service for fitted pieces like kitchens. We can also design and build you your very own campervan or Quirky Cabin and even help you transform pieces you already own. Bespoke Furniture Design
Crafting is at the heart of what we do and we combine 30 years of experience with qualifications in Fine Furniture and an eye for timber and come up with pieces of hand crafted furniture that meet your design brief. If you don’t know what a design brief might look like, we’ll help you come up with that too! We’ll measure your space or view the place where you want your furniture to go. We’ll talk to you about what you’d like the piece to have / to look like / the role it will play in your home or workplace. Then we’ll design it and price it and, once you love it, we’ll craft it and install it. Fitted Furniture
We are also very much at home in your kitchen / office / bedroom - any room in the house or workplace where you might want furniture fitted in fact! We have crafted entire kitchens or simply added beautiful wooden worktops or island units to an existing set-up for a refresh. We have designed and built fitted bedroom furniture and kitted out a number of home offices and playrooms. We’ve even created wine cellars and distinctive reception desks - our design capabilities are as flexible as your imagination.
Furniture Restoration
People say they don’t make them like they used to, but that isn’t strictly true - we have the skills to do exactly that which means we also have the skills to repair or re-purpose pieces you already own in a way that is seamless. Not an up-cycle so much as a bit of cosmetic enhancement - you don’t even have to admit you’ve had work done if you don’t want to!
Outdoor Furniture
Sometimes you want a piece that can cope with a bit of rough and tumble in the great outdoors - something robust but still lovingly crafted. We have specialist knowledge of treatments for wood that will give them lasting protection and we are on hand for maintenance down the line if that’s what you want too.
Quirky Cabins and Campervans
We work at the large end of the scale too - talk to us about bespoke campervans and cabin design and build. We’ve made a few over the years and we’d happily discuss a design and build that would give you a completely unique wooden building or a true off-grid vanlife vehicle.
